How it works

From invite to thank you

One link for the invite, the replies and the gifts. Setup takes about five minutes. Guests need no app and no account.

What guests give

One gift, split how they like

You pick up to 3 things. Each guest decides how much goes to each.

  • A present

Something your child will keep, or a gift pooled from everyone.

  • A charity or cause

A charity, school, club or community group your child helps choose.

  • The future fund

Paid to you, for a savings account or junior investment fund.

$40

Example gift

  • A bike they wantPooled gift$25
  • Their future fundSet aside for later$10
  • Possum Creek Scout GroupA cause they picked$5

For the host parent

Five steps

  1. Step 1: Make the invite

Date, place and your child's first name.

  2. Step 2: Choose how guests give

Pick up to three options. It's a chance to talk with your child about saving, giving and what matters to them.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Stripe checks who you are once, so gifts are paid to you.

  4. Step 4: Share the link

Post it in the class chat, or print the invite with its QR code. See who's coming and who has given. Guests never see what anyone else gave.

  5. Step 5: Say thanks

Thank each guest with one tap, then tell your child what their party made possible.

Optional

Keep it going

A party is one day. A 12-month pass keeps the gift link open, so family and friends can give all year.

  • The link has no closing date, and there is no party fee on gifts while the pass runs.
  • You can pay out whenever you like, and record cash, chores or bank transfers as top-ups, kept apart from card gifts.
  • Your child gets a private page that shows first names and how the pot is going, with no amounts.
  • It is one card payment of $40, or $30 if you start at the party. It does not renew by itself.

For the guest

Reply, split, pay

Coming without a gift is fine. Nobody asks why.

  • Reply to the invite. The street address shows once you have.
  • Split your gift between the options. We suggest a starting split.
  • Pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. The service fee is shown first.

Where each gift goes

Paid to the host parent first

After the party, the parent tells us what they did with it.

  • Present: the parent buys it.
  • Cause: the parent gives it to the group.
  • Future fund: the parent puts it into a savings account or junior investment fund. We don't give financial advice.
  • With a 12-month pass: the parent can pay out whenever they like, with "Pay out now", instead of once at the end.

The money

We never hold it

  • Paid to the parent

Stripe collects each gift into the parent's own Stripe account, then pays their bank once, a few days after gifting closes. Shareish never touches it or sees a card number.

  • Two small fees

Guests who give pay a small service fee on top of the gift. The parent pays a party fee of $7 to $15, taken from the gifts, or nothing if no one gives. That is how Shareish is paid.
